Although I am not a doctor, I have suffered from joint pain since my early twenties. I've tried a lot of therapies, some worked, some didn't. This website is everything I've learned about joint pain and finding relief.

Penetrex vs Tiger Balm: Which is Better for Joint Pain?

Joint pain can be a debilitating condition that affects millions of people worldwide. Fortunately, there are many over-the-counter pain relief products available to help alleviate the symptoms of joint pain.

Two popular products are Penetrex and Tiger Balm. I’ve personally used both and to be completely honest, both have worked really well for me. What separates them for me is their price and smell of all things!

So I wanted to write this article to try and explain a bit of how each are similar and different so hopefully you can draw your own conclusions.

I’ll try to clearly explain what each joint pain reliever is used for, what their similarities and differences are, which one is better for joint pain, and what the side effects of each are.

I used to live in Asia for almost 20 years, and seriously, this is the first thing anyone and their moms will tell you to try. From a cough to cancer, this is the miracle cure of Asia. And although it definitely isn’t all that, it really is great for joint pain relief, at least for me. It’s also great for sore muscles after the gym!

Which One is Better for Joint Pain?

Both Penetrex and Tiger Balm are effective at alleviating joint pain. And honestly, they are both very good products and I have personally recommended both to friends and family.

But the truth is, we are all different in a physiological sense of the word. And even though both products do work for most people, sometimes one works better than the other for no particular reason other than all of our bodies are different.

So although this may not seem like an ‘answer’, the truth is you should try both and see which works best for you. The Tiger Balm is cheaper, so start with a small jar and if it doesn’t quite meet your needs, then go for the Penetrex.

Both creams come in small sizes that only cost a few dollars, so why not be your own ‘scientist’ and know for sure what works best. Like I said, both really are great products, and my personal experience with using both for joint pain is they both offer relief.

But what is best for me may not be what works best for you. And the only way to definitively know is to test the both of them.

Side Effects

Both Penetrex and Tiger Balm are generally safe to use and don’t require a perscription, however, some people may experience side effects from their active ingredients.

Penetrex may cause skin irritation, while Tiger Balm may cause skin irritation and allergic reactions although I never suffered any negative effects of either. It is important to read the label carefully and follow the instructions for use.

How do Penetrex and Tiger Balm work to relieve joint pain?

Penetrex and Tiger Balm are both topical pain relief products that are designed to alleviate joint pain. Here’s how they work:

Penetrex

Penetrex contains a blend of natural ingredients, including arnica, MSM, glucosamine, choline, and Boswellia serrata. These ingredients work together to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.

Arnica is a natural anti-inflammatory that can help reduce swelling and pain.

MSM is a natural compound that can help reduce inflammation and pain.

Glucosamine is a natural compound that can help reduce joint pain and stiffness.

Choline is a natural compound that can help reduce inflammation and pain.

Boswellia serrata is a natural anti-inflammatory that can help reduce swelling and pain.

Tiger Balm

Tiger Balm contains two main ingredients: camphor and menthol.

Camphor is a natural pain reliever that can help reduce pain and inflammation.

Menthol is a natural compound that can help reduce pain and inflammation.

When Tiger Balm is applied to the skin, the camphor and menthol are absorbed into the skin and work to reduce pain and inflammation.

So both Penetrex and Tiger Balm work to relieve joint pain by reducing inflammation and alleviating pain.

Penetrex contains a blend of natural ingredients that work together to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain, while Tiger Balm contains camphor and menthol, which are natural pain relievers that work to reduce pain and inflammation.
